Last Tuesday, I went over to Tamara's house and we planted 60 tulip bulbs. Yesterday, she came over to our house and we planted tulips, daffodils and crocuses. She also brought a bag of compost soil to work into some of our current garden area to try to reclaim some of the places that don't seem to be thriving. I am so thankful for folks like Tamara and for you Bill who have a green thumb who can give me some much needed tips in our little piece of earth here that we are tending.
A sweet memory for me while planting these tulips was that when Anna was almost 2, we planted a bunch of bulbs at our house in Nashville. I explained to her that we were putting these bulbs to sleep under the ground and that they would wake up in the spring. Anna did not quite understand that it would take some time for them to come up and she kept telling them to "g'up" (get up).
Last week and yesterday, Tamara and I both smiled in saying that when these flowers come up in the spring that it would be a sign that it won't be long until you all come home.
I can't wait for these to bloom in the spring for that very reason!!
XOXOXO

We are living deep deep deep under the ground… perhaps the tulips are sleeping between you and me through the earth. We will both water on either side and will nourish them until they are ready to come up. "
