Rich Indeed

just wanted you to know that more of your goodies from the cast offs from your pantry keep showing up lately spreading some love in the kitchen... 

We had the Andersons over last night (Brooke and Ryan and their four kids) 

and it seemed like you all came up in conversation over and over again...

1) Brooke asked me if I was training for anything right now.  I told her that I'm not but that I've been going to your old running group.  I shared the fact that you are my favorite person to run with, but now that you're across the ocean that those Sunday morning runs are one way to still get to be with you in spirit on those mornings. :) 

2) Ryan then asked how we knew you all and we talked about James B. telling us to track you down when we were going to be in Nairobi back in 2000.  I shared how it seems that the instant connection we had was a rare gift and is one that Jason and I have not had with many others in our lives... 

What if James B had not prompted that introduction?!?! Life would certainly look different... 

I shudder to even think about that... :) 

3) Over dinner, we talked about how we ended up in this house, and we relayed the story of Bill running into Adam at the open house over by Cowen Park and the conversation that followed. 

5208 16th Ave NE was meant to be... 

4) We talked about how even in the instability of Jason's job situation that we have never questioned being here in Seattle here in this neighborhood.  We count ourselves so blessed with the

richness of our community here and of course you all were at the top of the list there... 

On a related note, we got to see Carter Crockett last week when he was passing through town and he commented that some folks look for this kind of community for their whole lives and don't ever find it. He noted that we've been blessed to find it in several places and in several seasons of our lives. 

As we pray in our small group-- we are thankful for those "with whom we share the Journey- those who have been given to us and to whom we have been given."

 

I could have been rich tonight if I got a dollar for every time I must have mentioned your names. 

But then again, I already am so rich because of the gift of the friendship with you all over the years...
