I showed up to UVillage Starbucks at 7:30 this morning to see if there were any Oiselle women there. I guess it felt like a way I could channel a little bit of you this morning so I decided to go.
And when I got there, no one was there yet. I felt a little bit like a kid who goes into a giant cafeteria and wonders if she will find someone to sit with. But, I thought it would be fine if I ran by myself if no one showed up. I remembered you telling me that there are some Sundays when it really is just a couple of people there so I waited a bit longer. And at about 7:33, a car pulled up and a girl got out who looked like a runner. She looked familiar, but I did not know her name. We said hello and waited a few more minutes before hitting the trail. But since no one else showed up, the two of us headed out. And lo and behold, it was Tina Dekoker who has run with this group for quite some time. She was delightful to talk to and we had a good time running together through about 8 miles of the normal Sunday morning route. I sent her the link to your blog and your email address after she told me that she had just been thinking about you all last night and wanted to know how to be in touch.
See- even in Malawi, you have turned me into a morning person
(even on a Sunday morning)
to log some miles...
You'd be proud-- I even ran up ALL the stairs coming home.
Thinking of you and giving thanks for you each step...
XOXOXOXO
