I ran in the Seattle Locks Half Marathon this morning and had a such a fun time. It was a free race so there was a small crowd that showed up on this cloudy 37 degree morning here in Seattle. It was so funny because since it was so small, I was in the lead for the first 7 minutes. Ha!
Overall, one guy passed me and then I ran with two other women most of the rest of the course as we talked and bonded over running. The course started at Woodland Park and went down Stone Way to the Burke all the way past the Locks to Golden Gardens (and then back the same way and up that icky hill coming up Stone Way and then up the hill in Woodland Park for the last 100-200 meters.)
I felt your hand on my back, Elizabeth on that last bit, and I came in 2nd for the women and 3rd overall with a 1:40:58 showing on my watch....
I will have you know that Taylor snickered over the name of the race.
Bill, I thought that you would appreciate it especially so I gave my medal to Laura to take to you all in the bag of goodies. It's in honor of all the sit ups and push ups you've done this fall... :)
fun to meet Laura and to pass on some goodies for you all!
(I still have more that we could not send so just know
that February will be fun to look forward to as well!)
