In mid-October, I shared this video with you from Dove. There have been 163 million views of this video. Clearly, it strikes a chord with women around the world because of the way women do undervalue themselves. As I said before, I appreciated that it pointed out how critical we can be ourselves and how beautiful it is that other people can help us see things that we cannot. I also really appreciated your critique of it and had shared both sides about this in our preaching team meeting that I go to on Fridays with George Hinman. George ended up referencing the video today in his sermon, and he also poked holes in it just like you did about the overemphasis on outer beauty.
He also referenced this parody on these Dove beauty ads,
and I thought you would get a good laugh out of it.
On another note, I ran the long route with Sally, Sarah and Robin this morning
and desperately wished you were there because it's just not the same without you!
While I have the running in common with them, I finished the run feeling like I wanted something more. And then I realized that it was the fact that one of the reasons I love running because I have experienced a soul connection with people (especially you all) as we have logged a number of miles together. That missing piece was loud and clear yesterday.
