I ran over to Erica's house yesterday afternoon to take some flowers to your mom who was there babysitting Greta. (there seems to be a theme here lately of running with flowers.) :)
Greta was down for a nap and she kindly invited me in to have a glass of water.
We sat down together for a little while and she shared a bit more about this last week as she has been reeling from this whole thing.
It was so sweet to hear her say that these last 8 years have been some of the happiest years of her life (aside from when you three girls were born and when you were little, Elizabeth). Everyday when she would come home, she told me that Elliott would greet her and say, "Hi beautiful!" and she said no one had ever said that to her before. She showed me some of the last pictures she had snapped of Elliott on her phone (that she had taken in the hospital- one before the surgery and one just a day before he died), and they were so full of fun and joy and life. Bill, you captured that spirit so well in your tribute to him.
I loved hearing some of these things and we just sat there and cried together as she shared some of her memories. As I left, she told me to take care and to HUG often.
My prayer for you all today is that you will hug often today and know that you are so very loved.
I ran over to the blossoms again after seeing your mom because I just can't get enough of them and I had to share them with you:
